Oakham Veterinary Hospital - Veterinary Hospital Assistant x3 – Small Animal

Full time/flexible working hours across 5 days including 1:4 weekends

 

The Roles

We are recruiting 3 Hospital Assistants to join our friendly team in Oakham, Rutland. Duties are varied and interesting and include: animal handling, husbandry, ensuring consult rooms are fully stocked, maintaining cleanliness of client, patient and staff areas, and supporting the administration and customer care teams.  There is the option, for any of the successful candidates, to progress on to the vet nurse training program, depending upon their progress and aspirations.

The Successful Candidates

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate, keen to contribute and be part of the whole animal and client care experience. Effective communication and problem-solving skills, in addition to the ability to work both flexibly as part of a team and independently is essential. Previous experience of handling animals is a requirement, preferably gained in a work environment, although further training will be provided. IT competence is also required.

Veterinary Surgeon 

40 hours/week - OOH restricted to inpatients

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a first-class veterinary service, supported by our experienced nursing and clinical teams. 4+ years post qualification experience is essential; a certificate or interest in surgery would be advantageous. You will be a team player, with effective communication skills and be keen to quickly become an integral part of our success, delivering the most up-to-date animal care.

Registered Veterinary Nurse

40 hours/week - OOH restricted to inpatients.

RVNs with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience, gained in a busy practice, are encouraged to join our supportive, friendly and experienced clinical team.
