Hospital Assistant - Small Animal
To help us provide gold standard levels of care to our customers and patients, we are looking for a Hospital Assistant to join our friendly team at Oakham Veterinary Hospital.
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to; animal handling, restocking and cleaning of consultation rooms, kennels and other patient handling areas, health & safety, general cleaning/tidying and some administration and reception work as required.
We're looking for someone who is self motivated with a keen eye for detail and is passionate about hygiene. They should also have previous experience of animal handling, be able to maintain the hospital's Health & Safety obligations, happy to commnicate professionally with customers and work flexibly as part of a team.
Previous veterinary experience is ideal but not essential as full training will be provided.
This is a part time role of approx 20 hours per week, including Saturdays.

Senior RVN - Small Animal
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RVN to join our team as one of two Senior Nurses. Working closely with the Head Nurse, you will be contributing to our nursing team's reputation for providing gold standard patient care alongside helping to develop and support the team.
Strong people and team working skills are a must, as is the ability to stay enthusiastic and self-motivated to keep pace with our wide and varied case load.
A strong interest and evidence of CPD relating to management/leadership is essential, and a qualification would be advantageous. Training and support will also be provided to the successful candidate.
This is a full time role of 40 hours per week, including occasional night and weekend work on a rota. A generous package is offered, dependent on experience. With lots of scope for personal development, CPD is encouraged and funded.
RVN - Small Animal
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team.
Our nursing team has a reputation for providing gold standard patient care. As a result, we are able to recognise and reward our nurses' skills, professionalism and dedication. We would very much like to hear from registered vet nurses who are keen to contribute to and share in our success.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and resilient, you will enjoy keeping pace with our wide and varied caseload and demonstrate strong communication skills. The duties for this role include preparing animals for theatre, monitoring anaesthetics, assisting in theatre, positioning animals for x-rays and CTs, performing Schedule 3 nursing procedures, providing intensive nursing care to hospitalised patients, performing detailed and accurate kennel rounds and performing in house lab tests, with the support of our full time laboratory technician.
The ideal candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a minimum of 1 years experience in small animal practice. There is lots of scope for personal development, knowledge and experience due to our practice being a hospital that provides it's own out of hours care and a large, supportive team of vets and nurses. CPD is encouraged and funded.
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week covering a range of shifts, plus weekends and nights on a rota (approx 1:10)
