It's official, Oakham Veterinary Hospital has been awarded Cat Friendly Clinic gold level status.  As part of our extension and refurbishment we have taken many steps to minimise the stress levels for cats visiting us, and their owners.

As a practice we understand that cats are highly sensitive to new sights, sounds and smells.  We now have a separate consulting room for cat appointments only and some dedicated 'cat only' appointment slots in the diary.  The separate cat waiting area is not only a dog free space but also contains raised cubby holes (with blankets provided) where cat carriers can be hidden out of sight of dogs, other cats and people waiting.

Our Small Animal team includes two 'Cat Advocates'; Veterinary Nurse, Rachel Bell and Partner, Catriona Laird.  They both ensure that the Cat Friendly Clinic standards are adhered to and are more than happy to talk to clients about the scheme.

For more information about the criteria and how we meet those standards please ask at Reception for our Cat Friendly Clinic Guide or download one below.
