Neal Ashton

Neal graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 1991. He worked in mixed practice in Newcastle, developing interests in small animal surgery and equine yard work. He subsequently moved to an equine practice in Kent and then Sussex, progressively developing an interest in all aspects of equine surgery. Neal gained his certificate in equine practice in 1996.

In 1997 he joined Gibsons Veterinary Hospital in Oakham as principal surgeon. He gained his certificate in soft tissue surgery in 1999. He is currently a partner at Oakham Veterinary Hospital, working primarily in-house with a large first and second opinion surgical and medical caseload, he is also involved in local competition yard work

His main areas of clinical interest lie in general surgery and lameness. Having worked with Martin Deacon, Oakham Veterinary Hospital's in house remedial farrier for five years, on a population ranging from top competition horses to family ponies, he has developed vast experience in the field of foot lameness.
